Rules
Note that these rules do not apply on Neverlands (POL). These are for RunNL!
General
Basicly, these are the same rules as they are on Neverlands. On RunNL, some things are enforced by scripts and are not a rule here. "Neverlands" also means "RunNL" when you go over these rules. Read them carefully.
Accounts
In short: A player can have only one account.
For technical reasons this means that you can not use 1 computer at home for multiple accounts
(so if you have a brother or sister that wants to play, and you only have one computer, you must
share the account).
If you have multiple computers at home and multiple players will play on this shard from those computers, you must get
approval. Read down to Shared access for more information. People that get permission, will be checked every now and then without prior warning.
See: Shared access rule below for more information.
When caught using multiple accounts without permission leads to all accounts being wiped. This is done automaticly.
be very carefull when you go play at a friends house for a short while. The system will see this as a multi-violation.
Macroing/Being AFK
Unattended macroing, whether it is being AFK (Away From Keyboard) or not paying attention to the game, is not allowed.
This also includes idling ingame because we can't always see if someone is actually macroing or not.
You may macro, as long as you are behind the computer and able to respond to questions.
You must respond to macro check popups with the correct answer. Failing to do so within 5 minutes results in the following punishments:
You get 1 light count per offence. These offences will be added automaticly when you fail to respond (correctly) and you will be disconnected.
A light count decays after 60 days.
Once you have 3 light counts, the light counts are set to 0, and you get 1 heavy count which is combined with a punishment, as follows:
- 1 Light count: 1 days account jail.
- 2 Light counts: 2 days account jail.
- 1 Heavy count: 7 days account jail.
- 2 Heavy counts: 14 days account jail and removal of the highest skill.
- 3 Heavy counts: Account wipe.
Note that heavy counts do not decay over time. Scripts that auto-login when you are AFK lead to 1 heavy count (It's irrelevent if you know or don't know that it auto-logins). Also logging in shortly after getting a count, and being AFK again leads to 1 heavy count.
Once you have a heavy count, you built up light counts again first, before the heavy counts increase.
Shared access
You can request shared access on this page.
If you have been granted shared access, for example if you have a brother or sister that plays as well, you will be checked by staff more often.
This check is to see whether you are both present at the computer by letting you do a small task at the same time. If you fail this test, punishment is as follows:
- 1st offence: 7 days account jail for all accounts involved.
- 2nd offence: 14 days account jail for all accounts involved.
- 3rd offence: Wipe of all accounts involved.
These punishments are quite heavy since you are granted something and abused it. Note that if multiple accounts are detected without permission
and you fail to proof that there are different persons for those accounts, all accounts will be wiped.
Paging for assistance
You can only page if a staffmember is online. Most pages will be handled with a message if possible. So stay alert.
If you page, be sure to explain the problem. If a staffmember is helping another player, you can not harm this player or ask questions to the staffmember.
Bugs / Odd things
If you find a bug or think it might be a bug, please report it. Exploiting a bug is illegal and can result in a ban. Using 3rd party programs to assist you in Ultima Online is allowed unless it gives you an unfair advantage over other players (for example: Speed-hacking, auto-looting, etc.). If you are in doubt, please consult a staffmember first. Legal programs are (but not limited to): UO AutoMap, Razor, EasyUO and UOAutoPilot.
Bartering
The barter command is for selling, buying and trading items. Misuse will lead to a warning or jail and after that to a simple permanent ban from the barter command.
Trapping/Blocking
Trapping of NPC's (monsters, animals, healers, etc.) is not allowed. Trapping is considered to be where the player can target the NPC, but the NPC can not
target or hit the player. Punishment is always jail where the time depends on the incident.
Blocking a passage or entrance with the use of tamed pets is also not allowed for any reason.
Housing
You can place a house anywhere. There are a few exceptions where you can not place a house:
- On or partially on roads
- In front of caves or dungeons
- Near entrances of any sort
- On farmland
- In guarded areas (you must be able to walk around the house without entering a guarded area)
Player conduct
Online conduct should be guided by common sense and basic etiquette. To be more explicit: Do not call people
names or insult them, do not harass people, do not spam, do not make useless annoying statements and do not impersonate others or advertise for other shards, companies, etc.
This goes for IRC, Ultima Online and the forums.
Action will can be taken by any staffmember present and can vary from a warning to a complete ban, depending on the offence.
Names
We do not tolerate racial, sexual or vile character or guild names. Names should be unique and this is enforced by the server. Name changes can be done by staff, only if you are under 1 day old or posses a namechange deed.
Reskilling
This is defined as: Killing the same person after he or she just resurrected, for no other reason then the kill itself.
Reskilling is forbidden and a jailable/bannable offence. This is done to prevent the pointless killing of others which causes
nothing more then annoyance to the victem. Thiefs or corpse-raiders (pure looters) must understand that if they return to the
place they got killed, they can be killed again (in which the kill is not considered pointless, thus not a reskill).
Example 1: No reskill
Player A got killed by player B. Player A resurrects nearby and returns to his corpse to loot it (or stands close by).
Player B kills player A again.
Example 2: Reskill
Player A got killed by player B and resurrects nearby. Player B runs towards player A and kills him again.
Example 3: No Reskill
Player A got killed by player B and resurrects. Player A starts to call player B names and is killed again by player B.
Final
Additional rules can be added at any time. A message informing you of this will be announced ingame and on IRC.
If something is not mentioned here, and you are in doubt if it's legal or not, please consult a staffmember.
